The Turing Paolozzi's and Bill Penney art exhibited
within Printeditions is produced by master printmakers, Gresham Studios.
They are one of the few professional collaborative printmaking workshops
in the British Isles and produce work renowned throughout the world.
What is Collaborative
printmaking?
This highly specialised activity requires open-mindedness from the artist
and great sensitivity and empathy from the printer. Each relationship
is founded on trust and a mutual dependency; each is unique. Such collaborations
often produce work of greater creative and technical range than the artist
might produce alone.
The artists typically work using specialised
printmaking materials. A spirit of creative and innovative experimentation
within the studio means that artists can produce outstanding pieces of
work using this medium.
Great care and much time are applied to each
piece. The image is proofed until it meets the artist's expectations and
only then is the edition is run. Each original work is then signed, numbered
and blindstamped to signify the artist's and studio's approval.
